OPEN MIC NIGHT

OPEN MIC NIGHT

Our popular open mic night takes place every Tuesday from 8pm to 11pm in the side bar (or, The Yellow Room). This chilled Tuesday night session is a chance for all you singers, songwriters and musicians to come along and test out new material, get out of the bedroom and play to a welcoming audience of fellow artists. There’s no better testing ground for new song ideas than around other performers, and The Yellow Room offers you that in a warm, friendly environment.

You don’t need to book in advance, just turn up on a Tuesday and play. Or if you just want to come along as an observer and listen to some great new music, you’ll also be most welcome.

Storied touring musician Dave O’Grady is the primary host of our weekly open mic night, guiding you effortlessly through the evening three weeks out of four. Dave is one half of recording project Seafoam Green, has toured round the world, and is a regular open mic host across the region. The fourth week is piloted by one of the crew from Bed And Breakfast, a collective who promote great gigs and even greater people. Both of our hosts lead the Tuesday nights in a welcoming and comfortable setting which will put you at ease.

A number of additional guest hosts will drop by to perform and invite some collaborators along throughout the year, but it’s very much an open door policy and we want to see people turning up on the night with a bag of ideas and performing for our receptive open mic crowd!
