THE RED SHOES | Future Yard

On Tuesday 12th December we team up with Michael and Monika from Cinema Nation CIC for a special film screening of the classic movie “The Red Shoes” (1948) in our live room. Following the film, we will be paying a tribute to Kate Bush (who was inspired by the film for her album of the same name) with a live, stripped-back performance on the FY stage from local artists.

Directed by famed filmmaking duo Powell and Pressburger, the classic film follows Victoria Page (Moria Shearer) as a rising star torn between the man she loves, the Russian impresario (Anton Walbrook), and her pursuit to become a prima ballerina.

“The movie that plays in my heart.” (Martin Scorsese)

Tickets on sale now. Pay what you can options available (£6/£3/Free).

Part of the BFI’s ‘Cinema Unbound: The Creative Worlds of Powell and Pressburger’ season, supported by Film Hub North and Film Audience Network, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
