International Gig Poster Exhibition

We’re incredibly excited to be welcoming back the incredible Onomatoposter exhibition for 2025. One again we are working with Toucan Tango to host an incredible exhibition of flatstock poster art to the walls of our Gallery space, the perfect way to kick off the new year. Printmakers and designers Toucan Tango are firmly embedded in this world, a global movement of artists whose love for music spills over into a rich world of gig poster design.

We’ll be exhibiting some fine examples of this work across January, February and March with an exhibition in our Future Walls gallery space, where you can come and feast your eyes on some of the finest screen print show artwork from across the world. All prints will be available to purchase, and many are rare or limited edition prints. There will also be a special piece of print deigned for this show.

On Friday 24th January, Do Nothing play a headline show to mark the launch of the Onomatoposter exhibition. This is part of a launch weekend featuring a print market on 25th January. See below for details.

LAUNCH EVENT

The opening weekend of the ONOMATOPOSTER exhibition will feature two days of activity to launch the show, with a print fair, live screen printing, live music, conversations and a pizza party from our new in-house kitchen.

On Friday 24th January we’re holding a launch party with a preview of the exhibition from 6pm. Come and join us in the Yellow Room to see all the new artwork up on the walls – including several from an artist from the famed Vera studio in Groningen. Scott from Toucan Tango will also be on hand doing some live screen printing, working up the final layers on a special print designed for the night’s headlined live show with Do Nothing.

NB – the gallery event is free entry; the live show with Do Nothing is ticketed and takes place in the Live Room.

MARKET

On Saturday 25th January, Onomatoposter turns into a full daytime marketplace which takes over the Live Room and Gallery spaces, with hundreds of pieces of incredible artwork from dozens of internationally-renowned sellers on show. The daytime print fair and market is free entry and runs 12pm to 5pm, with the a whole range of additional gig posters and great prints from the Toucan Tango archive on sale. You can come and feast your eyes on all this artwork, pick up a limited edition re-print or rare, discounted item, while feasting your stomachs on great pizza from our kitchen and feasting your ears on great tunes by Toucan Tango and Worried Songs DJs.

DO NOTHING

Nottingham’s Do Nothing have carved a very distinctive niche for themselves in the British post-punk scene that has dominated in recent years. They’re a quartet that all met in secondary school in Nottingham and played in bands together before forming Do Nothing. Their influences are diverse, from Spoon, Deerhoof and LCD Soundsystem back to The Pop Group, Tom Waits and Simon & Garfunkel – a mix which may well explain why their sound continually evolves in unexpected directions.

All their shows on their current tour have sold-out, so this is a rare chance to see the band as their star continues to rise. Support on the night comes from alright (okay) and So Reverie.
