9×9 Records takes over Future Yard once again to present Henry Priestman on Saturday 17th May for a special gig he’ll be playing to celebrate his 70th birthday (!!).
Henry will be joined by Les Glover and no doubt a host of other guests and reprobates…and the important thing is, IT’S SEATED!
Henry formed his first band 60 years ago, aged 9, the (original) Chuddy Nuddies. They were perhaps ahead of their time, and miming/playing cricket bats for guitars was always going to be a bit ‘niche’. Since then, there’s been Desmond’s Leg (1971-73), The Hull Art College Foundation Band (1974), Vic Vespa and the CZs (1974-75), The Edgehill Players (1975-76), Albert Dock (1976-77), The Chuddy Nuddies (vsn 2, 1977), Yachts (1977-81), It’s Immaterial (1978-85), and The Christians (1985-95, 1999-2007)…to say nothing of tours playing keyboards with The Mighty Wah (1984), and Echo & The Bunnymen (1998).
Since then, the glorious solo years, firstly with Pete Riley, then Ben Hughes, and finally 11 years with the incomparable Les Glover (2008- present day), plus any amount of other fine musicians who could be cajoled into joining in with the chaos onstage (special mention for The Men of a Certain Age)…
What a wild ride it’s been, and continues to be. Don’t miss this one-off celebratory gig.

Future Yard is open every day from 10am – so you can stop by for a coffee or a pre-show drink in our bar area whenever you like! Our pizza kitchen is open on weekends and before every gig, 6 – 9pm.
The live room doors open at 7:30pm (this is separate from our bar area), and music starts at 7:45pm. The bar is open after the show and the band will be selling merch in the bar area.
