VENUE SUPERVISOR

Minimum of 24hrs per week, with an aim to provide 30-40hrs per week; Permanent.
£12.40 p/h

Future Yard are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join our F+B team in a venue supervisor / duty manager role. Along with the Bar Manager, it is the Venue Supervisor’s role to ensure a high quality customer experience across all of our activities, and to ensure that the Future Yard venue team deliver a high-quality food and beverage offer. The successful individual will be a leader in our team of bar tenders, working across our events programme. You will ensure effective operations within the building when on shift, ensuring activity in the building occurs while adhering to both health and safety and fire safety in a secure environment. We expect all our supervisors to lead from the front and set a high standard for all our staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Back-of-house work, including:
– Accepting deliveries
– Arranging stock, including re-stocking bars
– Ability to stock take, including some experience working with spreadsheets
– Line cleaning
– An interest and care in craft beer + speciality drinks

Bar roles:
– To serve on, and manage, the bar during busy shifts
– To serve on, and manage, the café bar during daytimes, utilising barista experience
– Offer the best possible customer experience
– Troubleshoot and problem solve under time pressure
– To provide a friendly, approachable face to our varied community which uses Future Yard in a number of different ways

Venue roles:
– In the absence of a Venue Manager, the Venue Supervisor is DPS and designated Fire Marshall, responsible for ensuring the safe sale and consumption of alcohol, as well as the safety of all persons in the building
– To lead a team in a close down and open procedure, as a building keyholder
– To maintain the upkeep of our studios, and set up studio equipment where required (training will be provided)

 

Must have:
– Extensive bar work experience
– Barista/coffee making experience
– Knowledge and previous experience working with beer cellars
– Attention to detail
– Ability to work quickly in pressured situations while maintaining a level head
– Ability to work well with a team and a friendly calm demeanour

Work Pattern
Three to five shifts per week. Flexibility will be required to ensure the role is undertaken effectively.
Shifts are predominantly evening and weekend based with occasional day time hours for specific tasks, special events and daytime programming.
