Salary: £22,880 p/annum
Hours: Full-time and flexible. At least two days per week at the venue, with scope for home / flexible working outside of this.

We are looking to add a BUSINESS + PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to the growing team at our community music venue on Argyle Street, Birkenhead.
This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s most exciting new music venues. Since fully opening in the summer of 2021, we have played host to artists such as Gruff Rhys, OMD, Black Country New Road, Nubiyan Twist, Shame, Melt Yourself Down, Bodega and many more, with a programme encompassing the best in contemporary alternative, jazz, electronic and experimental music.
Future Yard was established with the aim of creating a transformational live music venue for the people of Birkenhead, Wirral and Merseyside. We’re passionate about the power of music and the positive impact a high-quality community music venue can have on people’s lives. Future Yard is at the heart of the regeneration vision for Birkenhead.
Future Yard is a non-profit, Community Interest Company. We run a range of acclaimed training, artist development and community programmes alongside our live events. We are keen to work with people who share our vision of a dynamic community music venue and are driven to deliver excellence.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Business And Partnership Development Manager to join our team, supported by and working alongside our Directors. As a non-profit, Community Interest Company, we must develop a range of revenue streams to support our work. Ensuring we have brilliant relationships with a range of businesses and stakeholders is vital to achieving this.
You will develop and maintain these relationships, ensuring Future Yard CIC has a broad range of commercial partnerships and sponsorships across local, regional and national businesses, brands and stakeholders. You will work with these partners to host events at Future Yard, fulfil sponsorship packages and develop our CSR, Philanthropy and Patron programmes.
We want to make sure that our events, programmes and services reach those most in need in our local community. To achieve this, we need to have strong commercial relationships in place with partners and stakeholders to support our activities financially. You will work alongside the Future Yard team to develop a fundraising and corporate giving programme to support this work.
You will also work alongside our programming team, with a focus on bringing in a range of private hires, cultural and commercial events to Future Yard, which complement our existing live music programme.
Our Business And Partnership Development Manager will;
- Develop and deliver commercial partnerships and sponsorships
- Develop and deliver CSR, philanthropy and patron programmes with partners
- Develop partnerships to bring in a range of cultural, commercial and private hire events to Future Yard
- Work with corporate and business clients to host events at Future Yard
- Work with Future Yard Directors to shape and deliver fundraising and corporate giving projects
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will be passionate about the positive role culture can play in people’s lives and how it can bring communities together. You will share Future Yard’s belief in the power of music as a transformational opportunity for Birkenhead, Wirral and Liverpool City Region.
You will be brilliant with people and an excellent communicator. You will be articulate and comfortable expressing yourself with a range of people in different contexts; from local people accessing our programmes at Future Yard to senior business executives in a boardroom.
Your career to date may have been in a number of different areas, for example events, marketing, partnerships, sales, sponsorship, business development or fundraising. We are flexible about the specific sectors and roles you may have worked in and keen to hear how you feel your skills and experience will fit the role.
You will be comfortable with having financial targets to meet and driven to achieve them.
You will be at the heart of a small, passionate team working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, who can manage and prioritise their workload independently, while communicating clearly and effectively with the team, colleagues, partners and clients.

We are looking for an individual who shares Future Yard’s passion and vision and has:
- Experience of events, marketing, partnerships, sponsorship, business development, advertising and/or fundraising – though those with any relevant experience will be considered
- A passion for the power of culture and a deep interest in musicGreat team working skills, flexibility and an appetite to continually develop
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to brilliantly articulate and present Future Yard’s vision
- You will be a well organised, disciplined self-starter
- You may have a clean driving licence and access to a car, though this is not essential
